MY Commitment to Positive Impact, Sustainability and Accessibility
I believe great photography experiences should leave a positive mark not just on our clients, but on the communities and landscapes we work within. Here’s how we’re putting that belief into action.
Sustainability and Positive Impact
I take a practical and thoughtful approach to sustainability across all areas of my business. That includes:
-
Minimising waste. All of my workshop handbooks are delivered digitally as PDFs. I only use printed materials when necessary and avoid bulk-printed marketing collateral.
-
Eco-conscious operations. I use Starlink for remote internet access on location, eliminating the need for additional infrastructure, extra equipment, or printed materials. It also helps me stay connected safely in remote areas.
-
Supporting local. I work with local businesses and suppliers whenever possible and actively support artists and creatives through my gallery space in Broken Hill.
-
Community involvement. I regularly donate my time to support causes close to home in Broken Hill, including running free workshops in partnership with the Visitor Information Centre to help local tourism operators improve their visual content. I also offer free talks to camera clubs around the country and invest time in mentoring others in the photographic community. Sharing my knowledge and supporting others on their creative journey is something I genuinely enjoy and see as part of my role in the industry.

Climate Awareness
I take meaningful steps to limit my environmental impact. This includes:
-
Running low-volume, small-group workshops that reduce environmental pressure
-
Combining trips and workshops to avoid unnecessary travel
-
Offering online learning options to reduce the need for transport
As my business grows, I’m committed to improving how I monitor and reduce emissions and will continue exploring responsible offset options.

Accessibility
I want my workshops to be welcoming and inclusive. My approach includes:
-
Including a Fitness and Access Information section on every workshop page so clients can easily assess what is right for them
-
Offering a one-on-one call with every booking to discuss individual needs
-
Keeping group sizes small so participants receive individual attention and support
-
Developing digital resources that suit a range of learning styles and preferences
